Do you agree with upgrades presentation, and is there anything to add or remove from this list ?

When I brought mine I had a list, it gets shorter by one item and 3 go on. It’s a moving target.
Seats are prob my next item, but I am in the process of fitting the mud shields as they will protect the chassis. Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

This is hilarious! It's my neighbour and I can see his Defender from where I'm sitting Darren

Generally a good set of modifications this chap has recommended.
He didn´t quite explain why the spaced or offset wheels allow for an improved turning circle, but he is indeed right. I have kept my old school aerial for precisely the reason mentioned. It is as high as the rear of the roof, and tells me in good time if I am about to have a clearance problem. I would add seats to his list, and if you do longer motorway runs, cruise control is amazingly useful. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTs, Recaro CSs, anorak, wellingtons |

What is involved in swapping to the CSI kit? I noticed the back of the washer jet yesterday when I had the centre dash out. Andy

I read that some have the update pump others don’t, but if you need a new pump they are normally easy to change Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.

CSI parts use the existing pump and optimil use a new pump, either way the pipe work between the pump (located on the screen wash bottle) remains the same. As for swapping it is very simple, hose is just a push fit and one single but holds the jet to the bulkhead 👍

I’ve got the original pump with the CSI jet and it works a treat.
The only issue I have is that my washer bottle was full of crud and despite removing the pumps and scrubbing the bottle out, I still get crap in the jet. Super easy with the CSI jet, just four little T10 (or T screws and you can remove the front and clean it out. My view is that the Optimill kit is overkill, unless you get thick mud over the windscreen, which needs to be blasted off! But for general use and watery mud, the CSI jet is perfect. 2011 CSW XS 90 |

The CSI fan jet in amazing, takes about half an hour to change, much improved coverage over the whole screen as well, quite often only requiring one sweep of the wipers to be clear again. upgrading the pump only makes it better, although not an option CSI offer just yet, something you'll have to do yourself. I have a Headlight washer jet (fit straight into the washer bottle) from a disco 3 fed with a relay to up the amperage it needs, also a 10mm internal bore pipe, now wash's the screen, light bar and roof rack 2011 Defender DCPU 2.2 - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic30623.html Instagram - @r22oyp Roy |
