Hello folks.
2008 2.4 110 and an issue has arisen. Figured I'd bang a couple of quick videos on here. First Puma I've owned so worth an ask as possibly a common fault??? Comments welcomed. Thanks in advance 👍🏻 https://youtube.com/shorts/uHowSgJtwRQ?feature=share https://youtube.com/shorts/Sfe5KhUM8Kk?feature=share |

As already said, most likely to be the manifold to turbo gasket. Take the shield off and have a look for any black soot. Also check the manifold itself as I had a crack in mine with the same results.
If it is the gasket either replace and hope for the best, or take off the turbo and get it skimmed and replace gasket .. or replace the gasket with a Nakatenga one that is designed to deal with any imperfections https://www.4x4overlander.com/product/naka...-gasket-2/ |

Thanks for that guys!
Overlander 4x4 are only 30 minutes drive away from me so heading over there this morning to collect the gasket and stud set. Any ideas of torque settings for the stubs / nuts? Thanks again 👍🏻 Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Gasket and nuts / studs collected.
Heat shield removed. Already looks to have the uprated / thicker gasket fitted. I believe that looks like a cracked manifold! Where can I source a replacement that's been skimmed so I know it's decent and hopefully only have to do this once? Thanks again Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge |

Two options. Fit new kit and see how it goes. Or remove turbo, and exhaust manifold and get the machined flat. Check for cracks when doing any of it.

Land Andy -
I think I've found a crack as pictured. Click image to enlarge Does anyone know if the exhaust manifold is the same as fitted to transits? Thanks again 👍🏻 |

I bought a used transit one off eBay, took off the turbo and got them both machined flat and refitted with a standard gasket. Prior to that I’d been through several gaskets and it was a PITA despite getting pretty quick at changing them.
No issues yet .. 3 years since doing it properly. |

Yes. I noticed that, and part of the reason I made the comment. Wasn’t sure if was a casting line though. Also the casting of the turbo isn’t great as I’ve previously found out. Click image to enlarge |
