Rear door torsion bar
I recently bought a used rear door for my Defender - which was a bare door and lacked all the usual fittings. I've sourced a torsion bar (MXC1790) and related parts from Britcar and fitted them in what appeared a logical order - but I'm now doubting I've got it right as it doesn't seem to achieve anything - see photo. Does anyone have any advice on how to get this right?

It's not entirely clear but it looks like you haven't got it fitted square to the door. It also needs to be bolted on tightly to work properly. Here's the same part on a door that I fitted to my old 90:

Thanks for that advice. I think you're right - the torsion bar has moved through not being fitted tightly enough to the door
