Resist - Pleather? Fabric? Photos?
Has anyone had experience with, or got photos of the Resist seat fabric?
I read somewhere it's close to Windsor leather but I've yet to find any more info on it..

I'd prefer grained leather, but the dynamic X S doesn't come with Khaki Leather, which is a bit of a shame..

The LR press release about the MY23 updates - here - says:

Quote:

In addition, a new ‘Resist’ seating material is introduced replacing grained leather (which continues to be available as a no cost option). Resist is animal free and offers a similar grain and feel to Windsor Leather.

So it's artifical leather (pleather), like "Artico" that you get with some Mercedes cars. I guess we'll see more once the MY23 cars start showing up at the dealers.

We used to call this ' skai' in the seventies Very Happy

Now it will be likely PU, imitation leather. No Mud flaps for my 90.!

I ordered a Dynamic X in August, and particularly wanted the Khaki/black leather. Now been told the car will be 23MY, and this interior will not be available. Almost enough to put me off of going ahead with the order. It seems that the Khaki 'Resist' is available, but other options, such cold climate pack are not available if this is specified. Matrix headlights are now a £650 option. Dealer has agreed to hold the 22MY price though, which is useful.

Now need to compare the specs for the two model years, to be sure of getting what I ideally want.

Still thinking....

Probably no less sweaty than real leather.

It seems dealers still don't have any swatches of the resist fabric in, yet.

I would guess this means supplies are a challenge. I also wonder if this is the same material they were struggling to supply for the non-leather steering wheels and gearshifter?

Anyone seen or heard about the resist fabric recently?

I have Khaki resist in my 23MY, and I am happy with it. Not quite as soft as windsor leather, but comfortable and looks hard wearing.

BTW, the colour is not represented well in the photos. It is in reality significantly darker and 'more green'

Thanks for this Stingray - Really useful. None of the dealers seem to have any example builds or swatches of Resist available to show me.

I particularly like the fact it doesn't use the Robustec fabric - On a test drive we got all sorts of dust and discolouration on the Robustec - having the full seat in Resist could be a good option. Otherwise I guess I'll need to look at protecting the robustec somehow.

How is the Resist fabric aging?
Does it crease?
Does it scratch - eg dog claws?
Any signs of delamination?

Pics from Dealer (finally)

The resist looks like windsor leather, and the texture is similar, but it's kind of hard and scratchy feeling. Not as luxurious or compliant as windsor leather. Definitely not an amazing new type of faux leather - it's like a finely textured BMW 'Sensatec'.

Too early to say really. Still only a few months old, but no signs whatsoever of deterioration so far - still looks like new. I don't have a dog, so not sure about the claws thing!

All the best.
