Yes I appealed the G band allocated to our property. My argument was that it was a newly converted semi detached barn and there was nothing to compare it with in the area, the only hard evidence to value was the amount we paid for it. When these valuations came about it was a matter of a valuer driving down a street and allocating the same rate to each similar house. This criteria could not be applied in my case.
The other half of the semi was slightly different but they did not appeal and are still in Band G. Our house was rated in Band F after appeal. Jeff Ex 1968 Series 2A Ex 90 TD5 Ex D3 Ex D4 |
