Risk type Injuries Notifying country France Alert number A12/01428/21 Due to an error in the assembly process, the occupant detection system (ODS) of the front passenger seat had not been installed on the seat cushion. As a result, no audible signal sounds and no warning symbol will appear on the instrument panel to warn the driver when the front passenger seat is occupied but the seat belt is not fastened. This may increase the risk of not having the seat belt fastened in the event of an accident, increasing the risk of injury. The product does not comply with the requirements laid down in the Regulation on the approval and market surveillance of motor vehicles and their trailers, and of systems, components and separate technical units intended for such vehicles. Brand LAND ROVER Name Defender (LE), Discovery (LR) EC-type approval/model e5*2007/46*0092, e5*2007/46*1055 Production dates 10.07.2020 - 11.08.2021 Company recall code N626 Is the product counterfeit? No https://ec.europa.eu/safety-gate-alerts/sc...l/10004554 So that's, what, 13 months of full production that nobody noticed that they were not fitting a safety critical piece of equipment? |
