gear selection wows
Hi all
did a quick search but could not find the same issue on here ...

Driving back from Scotland this week and all well till I came off the motorway and entered normal traffic.
Went to change from 6h down the box and found it very hard to engage any other gear.
Managed to get to a safe are and try all gears but not able to engage any of the them
Turned the engine off and it all gears selected with no issues at all, start again and the same problem

Tuned off the engine and selected 3rd and slowly pulled away - with much juddering and all gears were able to engage again with the occasional ‘sticky’ gear at times

Drove the remaining 400 miles home with no real issues other then me being extra cautions when changing gear ...

any ideas what this may be ?

Clutch ? output shaft? selector ? (expensive!)

many thanks for your help Thumbs Up Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

Have you got the dreaded clutch rattle?
I had a similar problem with engaging gears when my clutch started rattling and it turned out that the the clutch springs were loose and falling out and jamming it all up.
Also when I did get it in gear it was difficult to get it back out again. Shocked

Hi Daz
Cheers for that
no rattle from the clutch as far as I can tell - (but I am rather deaf!!) - and no issues getting out of gear .. just could not select any gear at the time ..

Clutch feels normal at the moment but will investigate to see if there is a rattle there. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html
