Have a look at GloucesterNige’s YouTube channel (Defender90Keswick or something like that). He has done some good videos on painting his chassis and what product he chose. It’s fair to say he did a thorough job. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Any of the Buzzweld stuff is very good. Just make sure it's super clean so it sticks. Steam cleaner as per a Dinitrol is the best, Or use a lot of decreaser and time.
Most people blame the product but in reality it's the application. Sent you a PM. |

Did you go with the Buzzweld CIO - considering it myself so would be good to know your experience?

I actually went with em121 paint from rust.co.uk although to be honest I haven’t actually used it yet.
What I don’t like about this paint though is that it is more of a gloss finish in comparison to CIO which has a more satin finish which is closer to the original chassis finish. I spoke to Foleys SV for their advice and it turns out that their paint shop uses CIO if painting a chassis whenever a customer asks for a painted rather than powder coated finish. I am still actually undecided whether I should use the em121 or perhaps change my mind and go for the CIO instead. I am sure that there will be many who will argue the advantages and disadvantages of each paint but I would always caution that each of us has a natural bias in any decision that we make so it really comes down to your personal preference. I am sorry if my reply cannot cannot be more helpful. |

I used this a couple of years ago on my TD5 chassis and really pleased with it.
