Defender is at # 15 overall, not sure that any JLR vehicle ever made this list before. It's #1 in NY market area. Shocked it's not #1 here in Los Angeles, since new Defenders are literally everywhere. They must have had a Subaru giveaway at the beach or something.

The Bronco has a few problems with design like the removable roof panels that have delayed deliveries but once the issues are cured I’m sure it will start screaming up the sales lists.
Why no Tesla on the list though? Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

They'd go down the table...all it shows is dealers have far less stock on the lot than normal. |

The table isn’t important if they are selling more vehicles and meeting or exceeding targets. That’s good for everyone Mike

But they aren't selling more vehicles, this quarter was lower than the previous 2 quarters; they've only sold more than other models because they've made less of the others.

Yes because they can’t get the chips and whether it’s a greater reliance or less contractual clout, they can’t make the volume they need.
If they can’t make it they can’t sell it. Demand is very strong Mike |

Q3 (with July and August in) is always a slow point for the car industry, wouldn’t read anything into that. I’ve been waiting for my car for over a year now; I think that should be enough to tell you that the problem is supply not demand… Cheers, David Land Rovers of all shapes S3 onwards… Daily is a 110 V8. |

This isn't sales volume, it's days to sell after listing. Not sure the relevance of that.
In the September data, the Defender is nowhere to be seen. |

Calling demand strong because you have a logjam on actually delivering orders, to the extent that some people have been waiting over a year for delivery, seems a particularly perverse spin on the facts.

Not at all and your statement isn’t accurate.
there is strong demand for new defenders, nothing to do with people waiting of which there is also increasing back order, those two states exist. That said, I think it’s a good thing to have 5-9 months wait for new cars, helps to keep 2nd hand values and reduce the disposable culture. My first rrs I had to wait 6 months But there is definitely demand over people waiting, which is there. A simple measure is those with orders in waiting, those still ordering and those waiting for shorter lead times Mike |

Not sure what you thought wasn't accurate, you were not specific...
Here's Ford's position on "fast selling" in the US: "Carlisle said new vehicle inventories have shrunk to below 20 days in the United States due to the supply chain disruptions, but the company wants to get that back up to 30 to 45 days with some getting to 60 days depending on the product line." https://money.usnews.com/investing/news/ar...chips-exec I'm not certain JLR would disagree... meaning spinning a lack of product into a positive is complete . |
