AdBlue Range Issues after Refill
Hi,

Had first "warning" of Adblue required in 1500 miles.
Defender was going to LR for an issue to be sorted (again Sad ) and so LR topped up the Adblue. Since new the range has been 8500 miles, this was correct as the warning came up on 7000 miles.

On collecting the car the range was 5200.

There was also a drop in the service interval mileage.

LRhave emptied the Adblue tank today and refilled with 19 litres, the range is still showing as 5200. The service interval (which was always showing as 16k) is now showing 11k. I have been advised the service interval is 11k plus whatever the mileage the car has done, which does make sense and the way it is now shown was changed in a service update.

The Adblue I am told is normal and I get the feeling I am not being totally believed it said 8500, even though the 1500 mile refill notification was given at 7000 miles.

So a long winded way of asking has anyone experienced this issue, if so has it been rectified and finally any ideas or info of any use would be very much appreciated.

I have the car back and LR are looking into it but have advised they do not think there is a problem.

Thanks as always for any help.

Edited to say I do know the range can be dependant upon use, however the only change was LR correcting a software issue (blank pivi pro screen) and adding adblue, driving style or use had not changed, yet 3500 miles of adblue use went.

Mine (D240) has never shown a range more than 5300 miles and after a top up the range has always returned to around that number. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come

Thanks Tim and Gareth for your reponses, so it may seem the 5200 figure is correct. It was most certainly 8500 as it was one of the displays shown to us on handover of the car. Seems like that figure is never to be seen again!

Thanks Rufus, so those figures are more akin to those I have had since collecting the car.

I would not be so concerned about it if the change had not happened following the car going back to LR to have another problem sorted. It seems currently one problem is sorted only for it to be returned with another. That is what I am finding irritating.

I am currently at a loss as to what to do next - do I accept the 5200 figure?

As I said in my opening post, there has been no change in driving style only the fix from LR for the other issue, so in my mind the figure should be similar to 8500 not 5200. It appears LR may not feel the same!

39Steps, is yours a 4cylinder or 6 cylinder engine? Looks like from the replies that there might be a tankage difference or consumption is much less on 6 cylinder engines. In 16 months / 13400 miles mine has had 1.5 tanks full from its 15litre tank Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
