Incidentally, at least some of the prototypes being shown on your were on 285/70/17. A much bigger tyre all around, and contributes to the stocky looks. Iwonder why this isn’t an option and what a Grenadier on these smaller sizes actually looks like.

Good pick up. I was leaning towards 17", so knowing that 285 would fit in the 17 rims is a plus.
Extra sidewall (albeit minimal) sways me towards 17"

Plus roads and potholes in Australia probably mean 17" will be more comfortable.

What would be the advantages of the 18"? Aesthetics? / Future stock? / On road handling?

They’ve got to be the 285/70/17s I saw in a photo months ago. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Do you remember where you saw them?

It seems odd to show wheels that aren't officially available on a prototype?

From those pictures it's impossible to see the wheels or number of studs. It's 6 studs on a production vehicle or late prototype. As a guess, they look to be 33 or 34" tyres.

This early prototype was running 5 stud wheels that I'm convinced are Mopar rims. Indeed the axle appeared to be a modified Dana 44 axle, not the production item.

They were on Facebook. Someone posted a load of close up photos. It might have been one of the cycling team support vehicles. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
