My First Edition 110 has excessive wear on the outside edge of the front near side tyre. I am presuming it could do with a full alignment check especially as I will be replacing all the tyres shortly.
As the car needs to go into tight tolerance mode to do this, can anyone recommend a good independent that can do this in a 20 to 30 mile radius of Grantham, I am loathed to pay dealer rates given the poor service usually received. Can only really adjust front tracking. I can't recommend anywhere in South Lincolnshire but anywhere that has recently calibrated alignment kit should be fine (though I appreciate recommendations are a lower risk approach!) > 110 XS Double Cab

I've previously found that a lot of bigger softer 4x4s seem to have accelerated wear on the outside of the n/s front.
My last range rover was very much like that. I spent quite a bit of time and money, to find out that it was already perfectly aligned. I noticed the issue was reduced if I took it slightly more gently on roundabouts. Obviously you need to check it, but it if comes back as 'its already correctly setup sir ' then thought the above might be helpful. |

Thanks all. New Defender so will need a full 4x4 alignment with the car in tight tolerance mode.
I’ve had a D3, 4 D4s and a D5 all with air suspension and never had the outside edge of the tyre scrub like this so I will presume it is the alignment not my driving style (hopefully😎). D240 110 First Edition (1XD3, 4xD4s and a D5 now gone) Member of Disco Forums since 2006 |

Have you thought about speaking to the guys at Bowler in Belper? They're part of Land Rover's SVO dept and prepare and run the Defender Challenge 90s hopefully they'll have the required equipment & experience to help you out.
