Early windscreen hinges to the later "non hinged"
My Ninety has the original "proper" windscreen hinges, but they are heavily corroded. Can I just change these for the later "non hinged" type without any modifications? I assume I can also lose the inner securing bolts at the same time?

Yes you can just swap them for the fixed type but be aware, you will need the metal plates and spacers for the inside which the three bolts fit through:

Malta 2012 Defender 90 Puma 2.2 CSW Santorini Black
Get a good PZ4 bit (pozi drive not phillips) that you can fit in a good ratchet, to get the screws that go through the windscreen frame. Mine were damn hard to undo, but managed after a bit of persuasion.
You can still drill the head off if unscrewing fails. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

What's the pozi-drive bit for, Dinnu? I'm sure that when I did this on my old 90 it was just three M8 bolts on each side Confused Darren

England 1993 Defender 90 300 Tdi HT Keswick Green
I've just rebuilt my 90 and it had folding hinges that i needed to remove for the re-paint. The job was made easier with the windscreen frame on the bench but still took a variety of persauding tools to eventually get the screws out. When i re-fitted them i used hex head bolts.

Yes, as above. Mine are M10. The ones through the bulkhead are M8 hex screws. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing
