So I had to purchase a second hand Angers NNN500020 ECU from a breaker (1999 model defender) now I need to change the old vin to mine so the correct map will not have check sum errors when uploading the .tun file with my Nanocom Evolution.
Any one with experience doing this . Editing the bin file . I have a OBD2-usb cable so I can use a laptop. Just need software. Thank you |

my problem is the vin I can remove the check error with TunerPro
this still does not fix / all only the correct vin . I was contacted by a tuning specialist yesterday saying he can configure a Nanocom map for me to upload that will sole this ; that is the easiest route so I will see !. Thank you I received a private message and since this is my first I was notified i could not respond so here is my response . |

I have TD5 map editor 1.1.0 so I can extract / export the tuning data and put it on a memory card. In the form of a .tun file for up loading to ecu from my Nanocon. with out the base map installed with the correct vin I get the check sum error.
. Unless I do not know something further such as the ability to extract the existing ecu config file and edit it and reload with the vin from my 2002 ; I understand it is done in the form of a .bin file or a reconfigured map / svloe005-svtnp006_base.map. : This function writes protected - tuned map files into the ECU. It will only write the map if the ECU VIN and the Nanocom ID match with the VIN and ID of the .tun file. Therefore the .tun file must be created specifically for use with the Nanocom and vehicle VIN. Strait from the Nanocom information sheet. Richard |

You can open your protected .TUN file in map editor? It is much easier to use not-protected .MAP file and upload it with Nanocom.
It is not possible to change the VIN in ECU with Nanocom. Old Land Rover diagnostic was able to write the VIN into new ECU. You can edit the VIN if you re-flash whole flash memory - over BDM interface inside ECU or in some flash programmer, but you need to unsolder the flash memory from ECU. It is not possible through OBD interface. "Drobek" = The Small One - Discovery 2, "Blufínek" = The Blue Thing - Defender 130, and for me at least Ford Mondeo |

I'd recommend speaking to Dan at Storm Tuning regarding any ECU issues, his knowledge of the systems is very, very good and Im sure he will be able to help.
