Tried one mate, found it underpowered really, and no feel off the tarmac. I may well stay with the landcruiser and do shorter journeys on the bike which I find much more comfortable.

Mike, have you decided on its replacement yet? Hows about a LC series 76 GLX V8 Diesel with F&R Lockers, you can get them imported into the UK

I'm considering it still, though will expect it to be more than £22k + vat with front and rear lockers.

Yes but then again, you can choose the lockers (if you really think you need them) you could have the electronic lockers or ones from somewhere like Kam, or better still, if you're giving this real consideration talk to Paul at West Coat 4x4 in Southport. They're recognised as being pretty much the best source of toyota landcruiser maintenance and resources - plus they're just really nice people. if you want an intro drop me a PM - I was there earlier today and have known them for a long time (its a family business).

whilst the import is a consideration, the guys over there can source a 70 or an 80 series for you and make it fantastic which is definitely a cheaper option. In fact if you end up going down there, look at the Red Prado they've just done, it has to be seen to be believed. It looks and is pretty much a brand new car from a start vehicle which was 15 years old. Fabulous stuff.
