Front Passenger Door Glass
Hi folks - my passenger door window keeps popping off the mechanism. The lifting mechanism works fine but when you wind down the glass stays up, pulls out of the holders and later drops out of position.

I might be mistaken but it appears to be designed that so the holders slide along the bottom edge of glass base as the window moves up and down? Or should they be fixed in place?

Is there a solution to ensuring the holders attach firmly to the glass and assist in pulling the glass down?

Cheers!

Gareth

The channel should be rigidly fixed to the glass, and the nylon (or whatever material they are) wheels should slide on the channel.
Here are pictures of my door when I was refurbishing it. You can get the idea of the position of the channel MTC8477 relative the the door/glass in situ.

The winder nylon wheels go very close to the edges, but not close enough that they pop out.

The above reply refers to pre 1994 doors.

With a Puma the two white glass clips should be bonded to the door glass. They aren’t very expensive to replace, and I use sikaflex to bond them in position, with a bead all the way round to make sure they are properly held. It doesn’t have to be pretty as it is not seen!
