The thing ive learnt is your dealer is key...your relationship to your dealer is key.
Forget Land Rover - the contract is with your dealer, they can do most things WITHOUT land rover and report things in the way they want. I love this website, but problem with it is you hear a lot of negatives...they make thousands of units so we actually only represent <1% of customers...maybe 1% total - and thats what most manufacturers have. Good point, I certainly started looking when I had a problem.
So does that mean the forum disproportionately represents the owners who are having issues. How many members is the forum up to now? |

I too joined with no problems. Haven't had any as yet either. I have no dealer and only one other Puma within 1100km of me. Forums like this are a wealth of information, contacts and knowledge.
Its very easy to pick up on the negative side of things on any forum of this nature since often people go there for help. 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |

I joined this site with no problems......but I have had a few issues with my Defender.......but now after listening to you lot I'm frightened to turn the key in the ignition!!! Especially on cold mornings as you all seem to be rattling and breaking down.We come on here to see what issues other owners are experiencing as there seem to be a lot of problems with the Defender. NEVER TAKE LIFE SERIOUSLY. NOBODY GETS OUT ALIVE ANYWAY

I have had no problems whatsoever throughout this cold spell, in fact the heated front screen is brilliant, the heated seat's better than the wifes Volvo, and strange for a Land Rover, the heater is like the shield on the space shuttle, brilliant in this weather. A rather large leap from my previous TD5 and 200tdi before that.
I really do feel for the people having problems with Defenders, but 2 of my brother's Mercs have been a pain, and I know people with Saab's and BMW that are having nightmares. What we do know is that when they ARE sorted, or you have a good one, they are great. And make you smile. Chay |

I love land rovers, I have always loved Land Rovers and I will always love Love Land Rovers but I think you all know where I am on this one.
I think the way things are going Land Rover will not be here in another five years. |

If you want a truck which works 99.9% of the time we all know where to go, you can even drive them to the North Pole. I went to the dark side and had 90,000 trouble free miles in 2 years. I did see the light and came back, but when you need to got to the dealers most months was it, I do wonder. If it was for my business them i know where my money would of gone!. Luckily my is just a toy.

We use them at work and the post 2005 ones break a lot. Mind you it would be worse in an Aluminium skinned vehicle as they'd dissolve! Now where did I park my Defender? 110 2.4TDCi 110 300Tdi LROCV ::: AULRO.com |
