I would suspect a failed turbo hose post intercooler, before inlet manifold.
Sorry for the delayed update, I wasn’t in any particular need to get the vehicle back quickly and was happy to let the garage prioritise pre-booked customers. Diagnosis arrived today.
Full points to Dinnu. It was the short 90deg elbow boost hose that failed.
I bought a full set of BAS hoses in early 2016 when I bought the vehicle and installed the 170bhp map and bas intercooler. I had installed the 2 easy to fit hoses in 2016 but left this difficult 90deg hose due to install difficulty. The spare hose was always carried in the vehicle for times like this, so the garage had an easy fix. Ive taken the opportunity for a full coolant flush to make access easier too whilst doing the boost hose replacement.
A slight misfire was found on No.2 cylinder and diagnosed to a faulty injector (not injector seal), so a new one will be going in. I’ll have the vehicle back during the course of next week. 2015 110 Defender Heritage Utility Station Wagon
