So these are obviously copies of lights I've seen for £300 a pair...
Question is for £40 are they any good? Has anyone tried these or similar... what were the results? https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/353556329507 |

Yeah, don't buy them. Can't see any forum member disagreeing with the above.
To add to what Mark has said: Plastic lenses will probably yellow if they don't fail before that. You may also have interference issues with your radio typically seen with cheap LEDs. And you'll likely fail the MoT - remember reading a post on how the test centre couldn't even discern a beam pattern on a cheap headlight set they were that bad, just spitting light any which way I can very much recommend Trucklite LED lamps if you can stretch for them new or find/wait for a 2nd hand set. Agree with the above, I have truck lite LEDs on mine and they are worth the cost imo. It also sailed through an MOT with them last month.

They may have a mark resembling a letter E on them, but there's no evidence in the ebay advertisement that they are actually approved for use - anyone can mould the letter E in a circle into the lens and on its own it means nothing. it would be the user, not the supplier, who is breaking the law.

The big clue to these not being legit is the picture showing the E-mark and DOT SAE. You cant approve the same light to meet both standards as the requirements are different. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I've had similar (non-angel) ones fitted to mine for years. They have passed three MOT's, provide very good light and importantly I have never experienced oncoming vehicles flashing me to tell me they are being dazzled. Still in as good condition today as when I fitted them
Good budget option in my opinion. > 110 XS Double Cab |

Can you go into more detail of what is different? I was under the impression that there is no DOT approval process. The manufacturer marks items that meet the standard as "compliant". I'm also under the impression that the E-mark is not an absolute requirement in the UK, in that you can import a car from outside the EU (in terms of manufacturing approval) that may have lights that are not E marked and they can still pass an IVA and so be legal on the road? Was that for me Supacat? Is the US (DOT) headlights use flat beam pattern no kick-up like we have in Europe. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS
