Give Pete Bell a call - top bloke and he is BAS.
Had mine done earlier this year along with the EGR 'delete' - it is like driving a different vehicle, more responsive, cleaner throttle and noticeable power benefits. Rgds. Chris |

It'll never be said officially but I believe Pete Bell did the official LR, Bowler and Twisted maps? Certainly very pleased with my BAS170AB remap that's been on over 5 years with no issues whatsoever.
Highly recommend. Thanks guys - that explains the vague secret-squirrel implications that Pete was involved with the LR map. Mine is actually a 2.4tdci rather than a 2.2 so it wouldn’t be an exact “LR spec tune” but if I’m going for a remap (mainly for drivability rather than power) then it’s great to know that there is a degree of “OEM-ness” to a BAS upgrade. 150 is plenty for me.

I have the 150 and it transformed the vehicle's driveability ---

I sat on the fence for ages before taking the plunge on a BAS (170) tune for my 2.2. I´m generally very cautious about chip-tuning, and prefer to pay the OEM´s to do what they have the best resources to do.
Absolutely love it, and having put near to 100 Tkm on the vehicle beforehand, am still often surpised by how much smoother the motor runs, and how much livelier the vehicle feels since! Yes, its feels totally OEM. Pete does an excellent job, and it definitely should have been like that in the first place. 1998 Tdi 90 SW, 2008 Td4 90 SW, 2012 2.2 90 SW, 2" raised Trailmaster/Terrafirma Heavy Track Raids, 255 MTs, Recaro CSs, anorak, wellingtons |

Can't answer your original query but thought I'd jump on the BAS praise bandwagon!
BAS's remaps are class and his aftersales support is second to none. Typically you would hope to never need aftersales support but in the event that you change/modify your engine setup/mods post remap he is incredibly accommodating in providing map tweaks > 110 XS Double Cab |

I just put a new engine in mine. Pete's advice was to run the new engine for 1,000 ,iles with the OEM map and then put back the BAS map. When I was struggling to do this, I got an instant response via email on what needed to be done. Back to running on the BAS map, very much better than standard.

JLR do offer a tuning upgrade for the 2.2, delivering 155PS and 400 Nm of torque. Top speed 90 MPH.
https://parts.jaguarlandroverclassic.com/defender-upgrade-kits So the question is will you rather go to JLR or to BAS ? Personally I have a 2.4, so the answer is easy, and went straight to BAS ! /Mat |
