I'm getting tired of the looks and comments from strangers
It's every day. Every time I go out in the car, I get people asking about it, pointing, staring.

Yesterday as I was filling the tank, a Tesco delivery driver asked me questions the entire time. And gave me his opinions on the car which were far from interesting.

The guy running the local tip, a couple at Waitrose, every time I park to take the dog for a walk.

And even worse is the other Defenders flashing me. Someone near where I live has now flashed me twice - just because we have the same car. TEW 1E... Stop it.

Apart from most of the above I’ve had a couple of police officers say hello (hello, hello) in a petrol station.

Mostly around here it’s little kids pointing at it opened mouthed as I drive past, normal accompanied by disapproving mothers as I guess I don’t fit the kids future environmental brainwashing….. Whistle

One of the funniest ( not with the 90) was in the airport in Malta. I left the wife to find the loo only to be tapped on the shoulder by two security guards. I was wearing a Camel Trophy t shirt at the time and they were members of the All Wheel Drive Club…..nearly pooped myself, great guys with lots of stories. Wife thought I had been arrested…. Laughing

My one gets noticed everywhere, there’s not a lot like mine on the road to be honest be it 90 or 110, doesn’t bother me, the steel wheels are the biggest topic of conversation, people either love them or hate them. I’ve done the wave thing but yet to receive one back so I’ve stopped that nonsense.

In my eyes though it is a thing of beauty

I guess it's because there aren't too many on the roads at the moment, starting to see more and more down here in Dorset. I always take a second glance or longer than 'normal ' look as I like them.
I used to quite like the waves, looks and comments when I had my old 90. I saw the same series landy every single morning on the way to work and the old lady driver always flashed or waved.

I agree - it's the steel wheels that get the most comments and questions. And I also agree that the Defender is beautiful. But I'll never understand going up to a complete stranger and giving opinions on something they own.

I'd never go and knock on a stranger's front door and start telling them I think their windows are painted the wrong colour, but someone gleefully told me he thought the green colour didn't look as good as the green on the old Defenders.

We went to a family BBQ a couple of weekends ago and my brother-in-law saw the car and said to me "Ugh. Do you like the new Defender?" I'd just got out of it. What did he think I was going to say?!

J77 - out of interest, why have you put a cover on your spare? Why cover-up that beautiful white steel wheel?

I’ve been debating with myself whether to keep it on or remove it. Today might be the day. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

If it had been genuine then it would’ve stayed on, though now it’s off I think I like the naked look. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
