![]() Click image to enlarge "Dacia has launched a new ‘mud wash’ service to encourage 4×4 owners to take their vehicles off-roading this year. Research recently found that 40 per cent of people who own 4x4s have never actually taken them off road. In response to the findings, the Renault-owned firm has launched its new mud wash service which will see soap suds swapped for buckets of mud. The end result will be an SUV that looks like it’s been on an epic adventure. The move comes after 19 per cent of 4×4 owners admitted they’ve never even ventured up a dirt path in their cars. According to the survey of over 1,000 city-dwelling 4×4 owners, 67 per cent said tackling speed bumps on the school run was about as taxing a task as their SUV had even been faced with. However, 17 per cent said they wished they could be more adventurous with their car. When asked what 4×4-based activities owners would like to try, 46 per cent said they’d like to go on a road trip, while 42 per cent said a trip to the seaside would be high on the agenda. ![]() Click image to enlarge Luke Broad, brand director for Dacia UK and Ireland, said: ‘Our adventure ready mud wash is about setting car buyers up for a year of adventure and embracing all that comes with it. ‘The Dacia Duster is the perfect all-terrain vehicle to get Brits out into our fantastic countryside more often. ‘For those feeling like their 4×4 is more at home on the school run than a mud run, the mud wash aims to inspire them to swap the telly for wellies and get off the beaten track this year.’ The ‘mud wash’ will be offered at Dacia’s London West showroom on January 18 and will see cars covered on the lower body and wheel arches." https://cardealermagazine.co.uk/publish/da...oad/250521 |

I am surprised that LR haven't offered that as an option on the Discfender...

Good thread resurrection.
I did finally order one of these at the start of October. Thanks to those that answered my initial query. It should be with me in the next 2 weeks. I went for the most basic model 1.0 petrol. Plain white, steel wheels, manual mirrors adjustment etc. I did treat myself to rubber floor mats and the no cost option of factory fit LPG, just like this ![]() Click image to enlarge 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS |

It's a shame you can't get the 4x4 version with dual fuel. Otherwise I would be very tempted.
As for the wash on mud effect. ![]() ![]() |

Yes, it’s a shame 4x4 only comes with the diesel. It’s really just the ground clearance I’m after so not too concerned, and I’ll be switching tyres as soon as. You can get BFG KO2s in that size… 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

I know someone who owns one and he is happy with it. Changes it before the warranty expires. He had a noise problem and it turned out to be an engine mounting which had broken. The dealer told him it was a common enough fault but was fixed under warranty. He says it a good basic no frills car. I had considered one of these for my daughter but as she tows a horsebox I did not think it would be up to the job. I got her a 300 tdi 90 instead. Best of luck with the new car and many years of enjoyment

Looks great! I hired a Dacia in Romania for a road trip a couple of years ago. They're everywhere there (and surrounding countries!).
I had considered one for a Top-Gear type overland trip, an early one (like a 13 plate onwards) and seeing if I could get it to Turkey and back ![]() Looks a great car, remember to let us know how you get on ![]() |
