Looks the same as fitted to the 70th.

I like the concept a lot but it does look slightly off. Dare I say cheap? Probably not what you want if you are dropping that kind of dough.

I think the key problem is making it look in keeping with a classic car. I suspect these are more aimed at older jaguars than Defenders, the chrome one especially. I think Blaupunkt did a retro stereo with knobs on it but a modern FM receiver too, I think that was even designed to bit fitted into older 3 hole dashes where the knobs held the stereo in place.

What looks cheap though? It's hard to find stereos that look factory fit, these look similar in design to Becker's stuff which was far from cheap. Most of the expensive single din stuff has flashing lights and graphics all over it (Alpine, Kenwood, Sony etc) which to me looks really cheap and nasty despite being really expensive. I think perhaps it's a perception that electronics companies have ingrained into us.

It looks similar, and probably uses the same guts, but I don't think it looks 'identical' by any means. Kramer apparently Make the same unit for various manufacturers with a different front panels.

The Mercedes one says it's designed by Kramer Automotive systems.

They're an OEM supplier.
