Rear Shock upper bush Question
I have some new Britpart Cellular Dynamic rear shocks to fit to a 2002 TD5 90 and the new upper bushes are a two piece poly bush like these https://www.jgs4x4.co.uk/defender-rear-sho...-bush-kit/
Should they be fitted with a inner metal sleeve (not supplied) or do they just fit straight onto the mount pin like they did on my old Series 2a?
I have looked online and it seems like some makes are supplied with a sleeve and some are not.
When fitted without a sleeve they seem to be a snug fit without any movement.
Many thanks. BORG - Bucks & Oxon 4x4 Response Group

No sleeve needed. When replacement time comes, they use series replacement top bushes.

Have look at Gwyn Lewis’s website regarding refitting.

The key thing is not to overtighten the nut or risk snapping the head off the shock as it wants to rotate when the suspension articulates….

Thumbs Up
