Seat covers
Has anyone fitted the LR seat covers? I've young kids, and although they are great, they are kids and tend to walk on the seats, sneakily clean their hands on the seats, etc. The genuine seat covers for the 1st 2nd and 3rd rows look really nice, but it's close to £700 so I would like to hear real opinions or see some photos before purchase Shocked

Thanks in advance
Adam.

Fitted Melvill & Moon canvas seat covers, great fit, quality and seem a popular choice on the FB group as well.

The LR covers look pretty naff imho.. very loose fit from pictures I have seen

Are these available for the L663? The OEM LR ones looks pretty closely fitting from the pictures but these are only the stock images.

£700 for a set of seat covers Censored
I think I would buy some straight jackets for my kids at a fraction of the price to stop them walking on the seats or wiping their grubby paws on the upholstery !!!

In both my Disco 4s I had the LR genuine seat covers, though only first and second rows. They were a nice tight fit. The Melville and Moon ones seen sturdy but a bit too safari like for me. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

@J77
Safari is a good description. I found photos of (I think) the ones you are referring to and IMHO they look like FA squared 🤷 Could be the colour, and they need ironed but definitely not for me.

Have you any photos of oem seat covers fitted? You have said twice now that they are loose yet the stock photos look excellent. Where are you seeing they are loose?

@tooth_dr
Thanks for the photos, yeah I think I’ll give them a miss.

The ones on my D4s were like the photos, really tight fit, they were a bit of a Censored to fit. IIRC it was Inka that made them for LR. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue

If you are on Facebook, join the "All new Defenders owners group" and do a search there, been a few pictures
put up by owners.. also those with Melvill&Moon, so you will be able to have a direct comparison when properly
fitted. I agree that the M&M's are more a canvas rugged finish to protect the seats more from
off road / outback / bush abuse rather than kids yet another pommie bar steward down under

This true, they now live in their carrying bag in the box under the boot floor……….
They are rubbish compared to the set I have in my 90 that were meant for a Disco1, bought in 2001 and despite having been on the car all that time are only now starting to show signs of the stitching starting to come undone. They cost about £1oo for the front two seats and were the “expensive option then rather than the other choice - mine are the set made from Goretex and look hardly worn compared to the new car’s LR set that look worn out after two uses………..and don’t seem to be as waterproof as my 20 year set. Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come
2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed!

90 rear seat covers seem to be an issue, nobody does them. LR don’t even offer them. 24MY 90 D250 HSE, Tasman Blue
