I have a Puma cage - but in a Tdi era vehicle.
As far as I can remember I didn't have to cut the trim, but I can check and take any specific pictures you might like? Edit - on reflection I'm not really sure my cage is the same thing. Mine is an internal cage, which bolts through the 2nd row floor, just by the seatbelt mounts, and onto the rear wing internal bracing. But I don't think you'd get the trim back on once you've fitted it. I left my trim in place, and then fitted the cage. So - sorry - not sure I've been much help.
