What size are these TX Flywheel bolts on my 2015 2.2 Puma?

Hi All

Can anyone advise what the correct TX size might be please for the 2.2 Puma Flywheel bolts please, they seem to differ to what I see when I google 2.2 Puma Flywheel bolts - Google seem to pick up only the 2.4 TDci flywheel bolts, which seem to be different (MAle rather than female TX headed bolt) to what is on my Defender? - See pictures below.

I have a TX55 but that is slopping around in the bolt head so I don't want to strip the head and want to ensure that I buy the correct one first time, rather than buying numerous different sizings.

What is the official part number for replacement flywheel bolts for the 2.2 ( I know the 2.4 Ref is: LR045965LR) but thats a male rather than a female TX theaded bolt.

Finally then - above - from the workshop manual the flywheel torque settings are , 25NM, then 45NM, then a further 45 degrees.... any idea what the actual final torque setting should be on the 2.2 flywheel bolts please?

If a TX55 is loose but won't spin, it is pretty certain to be TX60, since a TX55 will as I recall spin in a TX70 socket. If it is any help, a TX55 is 11.35mm across lobes, a TX60 is 13.45mm, and a TX70 is 15.70mm, so the three are distinctively different.

I'm not sure quite what you mean with your "final torque" question since you quote the spec, first stage 25NM, second stage 45NM, then a further 45 degrees. You'll need a torque wrench and an angular torque gauge.

Super thanks Blackwolf for the feedback. I don't have an angular Torgque guage hence was just wondering what the final torque figure should be if using a standard torque wrench if one doesn't have an angular TG.

360 degrees is a full revolution.
45 degrees is 1/8th of a revolution.

45 degrees is half of 90 degrees. 90 degrees is a right angle (the angle between 12 o'clock and 3 o'clock), so just calculate half of that on your wrench to get 45 degrees. Make a cardboard template to help you get the angle more precise.

You can't do it just with a torque wrench, I'm afraid.

Something similar to this tube: but of course 45deg not 60.

But do not know how critical the flywheel bolts are. Safer to have an angular gauge, and then you are sure that you torque correctly. 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

Thanks guys got a TX60 earlier, and it was indeed the correct size.

Got the spigot bearing done this evening, some fun getting out

and was about to start the craft shaft rear oil seal, but the retaining bolts were a bit reluctant to move, so left them as-is overnight after spraying them with some Penetration oil til tomorrow and that's tomorrow evenings job.
