You can waste your breath arguing with them or you can buy a new set for £40.
I did the latter at 3 years old as its not worth the hassle of trips back and forward to the dealer.... https://rimmerbros.com/Item--i-MUC7911--Se...gLqBfD_BwE |

I have some corrosion appearing on one of mine.
I was planning to take it off, sand it down, etch prime, paint & lacqueur it. Any particular advantage in buying replacements, rather than fixing up what you had? |

Dealer response on this issue is laughably random.
For example I had the windscreen surround and blocks painted at 3years by the dealer. They didn’t do a great job and they’re going again at 6years old. I’ll be paying for a better body shop to do it this time. 2014 Keswick Utility 2.2 |

It took my dealer over 2 years to do anything with mine.
I think what they did was wait till the end of the warranty period, then repair everything in one go rather than numerous trips back and forth to the bodyshop. |

I had my windscreen frame replaced by the dealer just before the 6 years were up. The vehicle was new to me & I wanted to get it sorted before the time was up. They didn't do a bad job, except around a year later the blocks are now going. I've not got to those yet as I'm in the middle of sorting out C-pillar corrosion & trying to make good the mess I made drilling off the ladder which had corroded solid to the rear panel. Blocks will have to wait a couple of weeks...

Thanks for the comments guys, I would not bother with the dealer if it were only the blocks as I would remove and do them myself but there is slight corrosion on the panel around the block and I'm not confident that I could do a good enough job on that. I will try again as soon as the dealer is open for business.

The way dealers handle corrosion and damage due to the elements seems to be extremely random. Had 2 D4s where the front scuttle panels faded in sunlight first one replaced no bother second one refused as it was within acceptable parameters even though it was worse than the first!
Had a total of 5 rear ladders replaced on the Discos for rusting, the last d4 had 3 ladders in 4 years and on the last occasion the replacement that turned up at the dealers was already rusting on the welds! They agreed to send to a local firm and have it stripped and plastic coated. 110 MY23.5 X Dynamic HSE RR MY23 HSE PHEV D5 MY19 HSE - Now Sold D4 MY16 HSE Luxury - Now Sold D4 MY12 HSE - Gone D3 MY06 S - Gone but not forgotten |

Perhaps Supacat can give me some information on how to get the corrosion work done on the bodywork around the window blocks, my request has now been made twice to my dealer, at first it was dismissed immediately but on this second attempt and as it has got worse it's still being considered by my dealer, they say they are waiting to hear from LR, what can I do,

I'm glad to report that all the corrossion work has been done. All sorted by Conwy Landrover under the corrossion warranty. Top dealership and a big thanks from me once again for excellent service asusual.
