I’m not sure if this is a fault with the vehicle or software/calibration etc.
Twice now I’ve been quite alarmed to have the car suddenly tell me to “TAKE CONTROL” with big red warning in the dash board centre panel. Always has occurred when using cruise control, with active cruise switched on. Both times it’s been in roadworks and I’ve been driving in lane 3 (or 2) next to the concrete centre barrier. It resets and allows me to use the acc again once clear of roadworks. Strange one, but has anyone else had this? 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |

My Kodiaq used to do it as well occasionally
That was always down to something infront of the camera (Squashed insect) |

Does adaptive cruise use cameras? I thought it was just radar.
And can the Defender switch between adaptive and standard cruise? I would've gone for the SE if that was the case. The adaptive cruise on my VW often does strange thing (disengaging, slamming on the brakes) so I don't like to use it. |

Yes you can switch between normal / adaptive cruise by long press on the cancel button.
No doubt it’s a good system, and I need to treat it with respect. 2021 Defender 110 X-Dynamic HSE D300 MHEV 1966 S2a 109 aka Betsy |
