I'd ask Bass. They are the best in the business and won't upsell for the sake of it.

Agreed - talk to Pete Bell, I know from personal experience that he gives honest advice. Just because you're offended doesn't mean you're right.

Not got one myself or the remap yet.
The advice on the BAS website seems to be it's not strictly necessary.
But it is recommend for towing, hard driven vehicles, or covering long distances at sustained high speed. Also for hot climate use.

I'm planning to get the intercooler hoses upgraded with the remap, they're probably due for a change. They will be easier to change while your engine is being fitted.

I am waiting on my BAS Intercooler being delivered, Pete Bell stated that as my vehicle is an
automatic coupled with the occasional towing that it would benefit from fitment.

I found him to be very honest in his advice as others have said and agree that he won’t sell you
something that you won’t need, that perhaps cannot be said about others in the Landrover business.

Performance factors aside, the factory intercooler is not known for its strength and the end tanks often split from the core, so, if you have the wherewithal for better quality item it is worth doing I would say. 2007 110 TDCi Station Wagon XS

Swapped my standard intercooler for a performance intercooler on my tdci, and apart from being much worse off financially I noticed no difference.

Landy Andy i thought the intercooler was just to help keep the engine cooler with the remap i may be wrong as usual !??

I had one of Pete's remaps last year - given my usage, he suggested that an intercooler change was not necessary. Rgds.

A radiator keeps the engine cooler. An intercooler should provide colder denser air into the engine, so increase performance. That is my understanding. I was running the tunes to go with it, but wouldn’t bother with intercooler again for the cost.

Mines is due on Tuesday, so I think from ordering to delivery was about a week.

I think that it can be very easy to get carried away with landrovers.

lots of people will tell you about the massive increases in power / speed etc that they have experienced with the fitment of different parts.

In my experience ( only My Experience mind! ) sometimes this can be what people either want / believe / expect from their vehicles when fitting / upgrading parts.

Again my personal opinion is that if you can afford it / want it / think you need it, then bash on
because it is what you want and after all only you can justify it to yourself 😬
