Does anyone rally?
I'm considering getting into rallying and was wondering if anyone on here does that and can give me a real idea of the bigger picture?

I've been doing my research and have read a lot online but it would be good to hear what it's really like.

What are the things you wish you knew when you started?

How was the budget at the start and was it realistic?

I saw on Motorsport UK that they say you can do a season including a car for £10k, but looking deeper I think realistically its probably closer to £20k. Obviously first year expense is the highest.

Would be great to get some insight into both rally and track racing.

Thanks

The best person in the business is Edd Cobley. Rally driver and instructor. From Top Gear to stunt driving in the James Bond films. Check him out on Google. He runs the East of England Land Rover experience centre. Absolute top lad. PM me if you'd like an intro.

Contact one of the local Motorsport clubs that run the type of event you're interested in.
They can advise you on cost to enter the event, licence type required and other things needed.
They may also put you in touch with someone that runs a similar vehicle to give advice or discuss an overall budget. Thumbs Up

Maybe worth a visit over to https://www.britishrally.co.uk/ and maybe a chat with MSUK
But local motor club is a good starter. 1999 Defender TD5 110
