That was my thought too..... ugly looking thing to stick on top of the vents, even if it's only at certain times of the year. Would have been nice to see a pic of it in situ. If I decide that my trusty towel is no longer up to the job ![]() |

Saw these today at Stoneleigh fitted to a vehicle.
Yes they are stuck ontop of the dash, but the whole idea is so you don't have to take your dash apart to fit. I had a conversation with the seller and it seems that a lot of effort has gone in to making sure thes do what they are supposed to and well. I purchased a MUD Vent earlier this year so its too late for me, I think there are plenty of people out there that would prefer this...no different to sticking a pod full of switches on the dash.Time is money and so is special tooling. Why do people always want what does the job well for nothing ???!! |

Just seems a lot of dish for two bits of plastic. However I would keen to hear how they perform before I consider parting with 85squid. How do you find the mud vent? Life is not a rehearsal!

One of the things you get with the MUD vent is a wider vent itself as the standard Land Rover one is a bit narrow. This is also shaped to divert some air to the side. As the normal flow of air from the standard set-up is quite low, I'm not sure that sufficient air would be diverted to the side windows to do any good.
I went the more expensive route and got the MUD kit. Had it fitted for a couple of years now so much too soon to try this new vent. I will say it works, but not brilliantly. The outlet in the side of the dash is quite small - constrained by the amount of space there is in the first place and, as already said, the flow of air is not huge so there isn't a vast amount spare to demist the side windows. In a car that doesn't leak it would be ok but I've had to fight against extra water coming in which doesn't help ![]() Tony |

Just fitted this to my Defender, typically, after 4 days of hard frosts, its now raining....
Seems the system could have merits, the jury is out at the moment..... |

I've had these fitted for a few weeks now and find that they work very well. The price is lot less than that quoted earlier in this thread now, too. Darren

Don't know about these - don;t know ifr the £59 is better than a quick wipe with a towel or treatment with Rain X anti fog.
BUT, they also sell exactly what I was looking for - replacement stainless pin & nuts for the vent hinges - ordered & will advise when fitted. 2001 TD5 110 DCPU in Bonatti Grey |

I just fitted these a couple of weeks ago and they do work very well side windows dont steam up at all, but your heater will have to be working well to get the full benefit.
