The figures so far from Land Rover are identical performance and fuel economy, the speed limit is increased to 90mph though.
On the XS there are very minor detail changes to the seat stitch pattern and the rear door lock, the other models do get a few adjustments. Jeremy |

The target figures are released and all dealers should have them, the actual final figures (which I expect to be the same!) are due about now.
We will post them once they confirm the final figures. All other details are confirmed and if you drop me an email jeremyjackson@lookers.co.uk I can through with you in more detail Jeremy |

Get a 2.4
Problem will be the DPF and its regeneration process, If the Active Regeneration cycle does not complete, you will get a amber warning light to show that the DPF is partially blocked. When that come on you have to start a complete regeneration by driving for 15 minutes or so at speeds greater than 40mph. You try and do that in a town centre, or while off road !!!! If you can not do 15 minutes at 40 a red warning light will appear, then its needs to see a dealer, Heard a few 4.4 TDV8 Range Rovers have already been having some similar issues ?? That DPF sounds like it's going to be a right pain in the arse.
There's plenty of farmers in the middle of North Yorkshire who's Defenders spend all their life driving round country roads that never go above 40! Imagine the DPF deciding it wasn't regenerated in the middle of a rain forest expedition... |

There must be a way to disable the DPF I would have thought? we have plenty of RRs over here in Jersey and we have a max speed limit of 40mph

Big trouble with regeneration of filters were related to the 2.2l Freelander, but thats the PGA engine. My guess is that Ford did a better job on that issue, as ALL their Transits now get the 2.2l ... And even if, who cares of red lights being a famer or in the middle of the rainforrest? -> simply disable the warning lamp. Also, if you read carefully at LR it says there is a DPF option for the EU5 countries, which might mean RoW is free of that. Never forget: cars have owner, Landrover have field service personnel.

I beg to differ. LR South Africa is trying to get the 2.2L without the DPF because 50ppm diesel is only available in towns here. If you go to Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe, Zambia, etc, the sulphur content can be as high as 3000ppm, not to mention you cannot be sure of the water and/or paraffin content. In these cases the DPF will become clogged in very little time. Distance travelled also makes a huge difference. LRSA is having a major headaches with the Jag 2.2D which is owned mostly by doctors - they drive 5-10min to their offices and bucketloads of warranty claims on the DPF. -- 2010 Defender Puma 90 + BAS remap + Alive IC + Slickshift + Ashcroft ATB rear 2015 Range Rover Sport V8 Supercharged Defender Puma Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zZ1en9 Discovery 4 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zXrtKO Range Rover/Sport L320/L322/L494 Workshop Manual: https://bit.ly/2zc58JQ |
