2011 Defender PUMA 2.4 Error PCM
Hi, 2012 2.4 TDCI 110. Intermittent failure to fire when cranking. Twice has need flat-bedding into an Indie in Johannesburg.
Using Autel tester linked to smart phone each time found following faults:
P1293-00 Injector high side open bank 1 Permanent fault
P1294.00 Injector high side open bank 2 Permanent fault
P062B-16 Internalk control module injector control performance Intermittent fault
I have also once seen
P0200-11 Injector circuit.
Indie sent injectors into Bosch for bench testing and found needle problems in 2 of the 4
Repaired and replaced in head.
Fault came back after a while, was able to clear the PCM faults and drive back to the garage (3 faults occurred on the road).
No sign of a loom problem.
Battery is new.
2 injectors replaced with spare injectors now seems OK
Any ideas as to the caus of this.

hmm, are you sure these Puma injectors can be repaired?

Maybe try swap injectors from another Puma? --

it seems this is quite common on the Transit vans, and fairly easy to fix:

"Van is fixed cost £15 ignition switch , I was under impression if van cranked and all lights come on dash ignition was ok,

2011 Defender PUMA 2.4 Error PCM
Hi Naks, 2 injectors temporarily replaced with garage spares. They tested over 300km with no failures. I have since done over 500km more, including 126km towing. No problems with starting. Will probably have to replace both?? Confused

Ah, so it was the injectors then.

Yeah, best to replace them with brand new ones. --
