I can 2nd the GO seal kit, worked a treat on my sliding windows. I replaced them about 4 or 5 years ago and still rattle free. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Hi,
Thanks for the link, unfortunately you need to remove the rear windows to fit this kit, however mine are bonded rather than riveted in and I can’t find a kit for these. Is there a way of doing this without removing the windows? |

From memory doing my windows (riveted in) I had to remove the windows to get to the screws that hold the frames together so I could get the glass out. 1999 Defender TD5 110

Quote from mud site:
Will it fit my vehicle? Fits Land Rover Defender factory fitted rear sliding windows with 4mm glass that contain felt linings. Fits Model Years 1984 through 2001 with the single sliding glass panel. NOTE: On post 2001 Defender side windows, the window frames are bonded into the body side panels. This makes removal of the window frame very difficult. This kit will therefore only work with the earlier style window frames that are riveted in place. To my knowledge, the bonded type was introduced with the puma engine, from 2007. My 2012 still have the felt lining, which rattle like crazy. If I understand correctly, the frame has to be removed from vehicle and split to install the Garisson seal, hence the problem to install on Puma style frames. So that means the only alternative for the puma sliding windows is again to install RTC6462 ? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing 2012 90 CSW, 2.2TDCI, Santorini Black |

Mine has the bonded style unfortunately, from what I can work out late TD5 have these.
Sounds like I need to get a car window company to remove and re-fit! Suddenly a cheap fix becomes an expensive one! |
