So thinking about retrofitting the central locking to my 2010.
Question that I can not locate the answer for is where does the wiring run for the second row. I am guessing it’s passenger side under the headlining but passenger side for me is drivers side for UK cars. This makes most sense for me as the alarm is that side tail gate is that side then the wires run across to the rear doors by going down the b pillars. The front doors I know it goes out of the bulkhead and then back in, just second row is the wonder. Anybody got any photos of the route of the wiring in the head lining. It maybe that it does not cross and the left side goes from front door to back door. Thanks in advance Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

The roof loom goes up the RH A pillar and does the end door central locking, but not row 2.
The wiring for row 2 doors is connected in the seatbox electrics side (under RH front seat). In the seat box you will find a 3 pin connector with Pink, Orange and Purple/Blue wires: https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic75226.html https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic73333.html It is likely you have a loom plugged in with just the Purple/Blue going away to the door switches. You would need to change this loom to the central locking version, which then goes up the B pillars to feed the rubber tubes into the door. The loom for this is YMM000341 or LR016438 or LR030062 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Perfect thanks @martin
Looks like I’ll be on the hunt for some connectors under the seats then. Do the run from the seat boxes up the b pillar? Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

There's a single connector for both doors, it's under the RH seat. Not one each side. 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top

Excuse the dust first time I looked in here
Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Click image to enlarge Don’t see that connector the single purple wire though I now see goes to the b pillar, so need to work out how it gets there I guess it’s from the dash wiring and I don’t have xs model so don’t have the wiring Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Get the vacuum out
You're looking for C2004, to the left here (so near the rear of the seatbox). But it's a a white 3 pin plug, with orange, pink, purple/blue wires. Doesn't have to be an XS loom for it to be there. Click image to enlarge 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Vacuum was going to send in the iRobot to sort it out.
Another list for the weekend to come. I guess once it’s clean I may have a fighting chance to see the colors of the wires and where they are hidden Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Click image to enlarge I think it’s actually this connector that has the purple wire on, it comes from the rear second row doors that I can see, just don’t see what it’s plugged into yet. So I can see a purple wire that goes to the b Pilar, that I think is door open light switch, but that just connects to a single purple wire, I really don’t think I have this extra connector.
So plan is get the cable martin mentions that gives me b pillar to the rhs seat box. From there I guess it goes out to the dash area where I splice in the front door wiring, that goes out of bullhead and back in then also to rear door. Extra two wires on the drivers side from looking at wiring schematics Also may as well put in the wires for electric windows , only two more wires to the front doors. Then connect to the alarm module (and mod that) I have a set of connectors from Paul c so that should cover me, only need to get some wire and tape. Anybody see a problem with the master plan Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

sounds like your loom doesn't have CDL wires on that connector.
As it's pretty simple to drive the motors, just two wires, i suggest that you can add 2 wires in parallel of your front door lock drive or take it from pin 2 and 3 on the 10AS unit to this connector. Assuming you buy the LR loom then it's just a matter of making the connectors mate up. the purple/blue wire is the door switch. all door switches connect to this wire, except the driver's door. there are no power window wires for the rear doors in the XS loom either, so you will need to hack up your own. I did my front windows using the original connectors and although LR has 20amps fuses for each door motor, you can get away with a single 20amp circuit for both. If you do have an aux battery, you can consider wiring the windows to this battery so it's easier to open/close while you are camped. It was just martin saying all of them had that connector that threw me, but yep I can put it in as an overlay loom Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing. 5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

Apologies for hijacking this post but I'm in a similar position. I have located the connector C2004 for the 2nd row door looms, can anyone confirm if two looms are required to connect between C2004 and the individual door looms or does the part no. LR030062 do both doors? 1985 127 V8 Build Thread

Thank you, that makes some sense. I wonder how LR030061 and LR030062 differ then? I'm also not sure if I'd need LR030062 or LR016438/7 as it's a TD5 loom connecting to a puma doors. 1985 127 V8 Build Thread
