Heated windscreen wiring
Hi everyone, hope you can help.
I have recently had a Pilkington heated screen installed by National Windscreens.
Have a Britpart wiring loom that I have connected myself. Battery connections are straightforward and positive to left hand side tag, earth to the right. I have connected red orange wire to the red orange illumination light on the cigar lighter, earth to the black wire(lighter) with the yellow (Britpart) wire connected to the purple green wire of the lighter.
I now have illumination of the switch when the vehicle lights are turned on and the red tell tale light is permanently on ( with or without lights turned on), even without pressing the switch. No voltage across the positive and negative terminals of the windscreen. Have I connected the yellow wire erroneously to the purple green and, if so, where should I connect it? Or, could it be a dodgy relay? The vehicle is a 2002 Td5 defender.
Hope someone can help,please.
