300tdi bonnet on TD5
Hi all,
I need some advice regarding bonnets. I have been looking at fitting an older style bonnet to my TD5 as they're supposedly much sturdier and can be stood on, can mount spare wheels, etc. I have, however, heard problems with contact between the bonnet and the engine and other components. I am wondering if removing the engine soundproofing will eliminate this problem or whether there other issues I have not considered.

I realise I will have to fit a different engine stay and that the scissor one doesn't fit in the original position but that's not an issue.

Thanks.

You won’t need the scissor prop. Your Td5 porp rid will suffice (without a bonnet mounted spare that is). Thumbs Up 2010 Range Rover MkIII Autobiography Super Charged (Idris)

Thanks for the reply. It will fit then without the soundproofing?
Cheers.

My 1984 bonnet fits with soundproofing. But no parts of Land Rover have the same spec. Twisted Evil Roel

I had the opposite..... Td5 and a 300 bonnet and it just touched, made a helluva racket vibrating through the bulkhead.

Took the plastic soundproof off and it stopped.
