Just removed all my LED main headlights and side liighs and put the standard ones back in for my MOT today ...
The change is really striking with the yellow bulbs that are equivalent to candles,
However the MOT says no - so no it is

For sale - a full set of LED H4 replacement bulbs and side lights - open to offers in the £30 area! Whistle Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html

or 'sensible' MOT testers.......... Razz

The only problem here is that if the sensible pragmatic tester continues to pass these lights, he may end up losing his livelihood since both his and his employer's testing licences may be revoked.

Rather than put him on the spot, it would be kinder to pop a pair H4s back in just for the test.

Indeed a sensible idea..... Just annoyed I binned my old bulbs thinking I'd not have a use for them. Thankfully sailed through its MOT three weeks ago.

if your car fitted with or has components remover and invaded in an accident or stop on the road side for inspersion Censored you will be hung out dry

Not sure what your post is supposed to say but my vehicles are fully MOT / C&U legal with all CATs, DPF's, etc and pretty sure that they will be far higher up the tree of any VOSA roadside stop so as already stated I am quite happy with MY personal choice

^^^^^ I think the statement is you may have passed the MOT if you have an accident and it’s investigated and your defender isn’t road legal then you may have the proverbial book thrown at you with regard to breaking the law and not having insurance........look at it another way how much do you like your mods? Enough to lose your house and your savings for? Imagine being sued by the party you have been in an accident with........ Thumbs Up 2015 HT XS 90

I think some of those voicing their 'wrath' on this minor issue on here should get their own house in order

It seems your fine to remap, delete DPF's and whatever else but god forbid you might actually want to see the road in front of you

Indeed, we seem to be circling back and repeating ourselves. Not sure there's anything new in this thread, but shouldn't it just be moved into the original one here:

I'll happily take a pair of LED bulbs from anyone who has removed them to put in my '85 90 providing they are verifiably of Classic car LEDs origin.
PM me.

My LED lights have now been sold to a member who is able to use them legally ! (many thanks Mo)
I’m some what jealous as its a big shock going back to the H4 bulbs.

I did ask my MOT tester and he confirmed that it would be a fail, however he could not understand the need for it as all headlights had to pass the dip/Main beam test to ensure that they dont dazzle - .... however those are his thoughts only. Poppy - TDCI (Puma) 110XS 2.2 - Camper conversion - see the build here - https://www.defender2.net/forum/topic56530.html
