Hi!
Can anyone tell me which Dog Guard I need to get for a 2015 90 Hardtop with Bulkhead Removal Bar? I thought I'd figured out the answer from looking through forums and online retailers, but now I've got 2 retailers telling me different things. Lucari (ex-LRI) are saying the LR006448 guard should fit happily with the Factory Option Bulkhead Removal Bar, but John Craddock are saying it won't and worse, there is no Dog Guard which fits at all! I'm actually wondering what the difference is with the LR006447 model. It seems to be designed for a 110, but I can't see any obvious difference except for the opening at the bottom. That might be useful to have, although I imagine the Cubby Box would need to come out. Is that the only reason it's specific to the 110? If anyone knows a 3rd-party Dog Guard which fits (and is available in the UK), I'd be delighted to hear that too, especially if it's cheaper than the £300 JLR part! Thanks, Donnie. |

Thanks, but Travall don't list a dog guard for a 2007-on 90 HT with Bulkhead Removal. Every other combination yes, but not that one. |

I think Lucari are correct with the LR006448. Here it is on another site and it's pretty specific about it being for a post '07 90 without bulkhead (it matters not whether it's a hardtop or SW):

Yup, that's what I was thinking too, right up to the point Craddocks came back with their response! Looking at the installation guides on Topix, it certainly implies the LR006448 is designed for a 90, and I'd guess the only important difference is I can ignore the steps about removing grab-handles and window trim! The LR006447 guide shows a 110 SW, but it still looks like a very similar fitting, so unless I'm missing something it should be possible to have an access-hatch in the lower section, albeit blocked by the Cubby Box. |

I think the mounting brackets are different on the 110 kit as they fix in places that don't exist on a 90. Darren

Yeah, just comparing the guides again and I'm seeing that. Annoying if it's just the brackets that are different. Suppose I could always fab them up myself, but not sure I want to take the risk that there's something more fundamental! Thanks! |

That's good to hear. guess I'll just have to order one and see what I end up with. I'm thinking if I really want the LR006447-style hatch I could probably do a mod later. Thanks for the help. |

The instructions show the brackets and differences quite clearly.
Remember on a 110 that it fits behind row 2 not row 1, so brackets and the shape are different. LR006447: https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...006447.pdf LR006448: https://www.defender2.net/gallery/albums/u...006448.pdf 1988 90 Td5 NAS soft top 2015 D90 XS SW |

Thought about having one made up ? Safest dog guard my mutt has seen , and yes the top triangle is removable for long things or worst case scenario of a big rear shunt, removing the dog also

I have a 2016 XS 90 SW and have no bulkhead. The 6448 dog guard fits perfectly. As someone else commented the brackets are incorrectly labelled for right and left hand side,

If you prefer LR006447, I have a spare barrier you can have for £75. You would need to make up your own top and middle brackets as these are missing (and in any case are for the 110 only). Bottom brackets which attach to the tub D ring mounting points are present. Guard in excellent undamaged condition. A bit on the large awkward size for carriage but possibly meet you mid way? Drop me a PM if you’re interested.

Hello chaps, I need to put a cargo barrier in my 110 SW, behind the front seats. The rear seats will be removed. Looking at this thread here, it looks like a barrier meant for a 90 would (could be made to) work.
Any inputs on this and/or has anyone done it? Thanks, Dave Roaming around 🇳🇴🇨🇭 |
