Afternoon all,
Finally got the rear tub off my DCPU yesterday and was somewhat baffled by what this strange piece is/was that was under the rear right side. Granted there is not much left of it but it was bolted onto the right hand tub support bracket on the chassis (using two of the original holes which are evident on my new chassis and on the other side of the original chassis). It looks to have only been a small folded steel box bolted on with two M6 bolts. There is no sign of it having contained anything but that could well have been long gone. Whatever it is, the tub floor looks to have been sat on it which has actually kept the rubber pads on the two rearmost floor supports from actually touching the chassis on that side! The mystery object has actually worn away/indented into the old tub floor. Mystery part: Click image to enlarge Damage to tub floor: Click image to enlarge I suspect that it is not anything original and can't see anything similar on the parts diagrams but the condition of it and the fact that it was sandwiched between the tub and chassis seems to indicate that it must have been fitted with the tub removed or at least raised which there is no evidence of having ever been done since it was originally built. Vehicle only had one prior owner when we bought it (HM Crown Estate) so I doubt that it was anything retrofitted. The only other modifications that had been done to the vehicle were a CB radio and towing electrics. Has anyone else got/seen anything similar? Cheers, Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Whatever it is, my 2007 DCPU doesn't have one.

Thanks Blackwolf,
Typically just after posting I think I have tracked it down: https://yrmit.co.uk/product/hdg-fuel-tube-...-defender/ Can see it here on a 90 with the fuel neck breather clipped to it: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/143645721181?ch...L0EALw_wcB But the filler neck breather hose on my 110 goes beneath that raised tub support section so dont see that it is doing anything (other than ruining the tub floor). It does seem to be rather purposeless. I suppose it accelerates recycling by encouraging corrosion!
