The sad truth is to avoid anything made in the uk. German and European makes are good. Mine is an Adria and in very happy with it and it’s build quality.
I would question having a motorhome to tour the UK though. They don’t work well as the uk isn’t set up for it, but if that is what you want to do, then get the smallest you can, but that doesn’t really work for living in long term, as may be required for your project. |

Always had Hymers...wouldnt touch a UK motorhome as older ones will definitely be suffering from damp issues. Great value German Motorhomes on Mobile.de & easy process (Brexit & Lockdown aside) to pop over to Germany & pickup a LHD bargain which will be really easy to sell in the UK when & if you want to flog it as LHD German vans are very popular in the UK as most folk buy them to tour Europe.

As Andy and FatCog have said, sorry to say but for a good MH its German i am afraid
My last 4 have been, Frankia, & Burnster , and settled on Dethleffs (2) No such thing as the perfect MH, its all a compromise , list what you need, and would be nice. Biggest issue really is payload, or lack of it, certainly on 3.5 ton ones, I need to tow 3 ton plus, and have a payload for 1.5! so needed a big one !!!! Thanks for that link - I often toy with the idea of getting a MH (love camping but getting on a bit!) and thought the best thing to do would be buy a left hooker as most of my trips would be in Europe. Euro-Leafing to infinity and beyond..... |

Depending on your intended use, have you considered a converted van? Some very good builders out there. Boxer Ducati and relay are all galv shell I have read. Avoid sprinter and crafter due to rust issues, and latest Mercs don’t seem as reliable as the sprinters from 5 years back.
