If JLR had continued it as a 'normally-priced 4x4' and not gone so upmarket that it was in price competition with its own Evoque...

I'm not saying that the Evoque wasn't a great idea, it was, but I'll just never understand why the Freelander got pushed up-market when a small-ish 4x4 that wasn't loaded with extras shouldn't have stayed in its price bracket for emergency services, utility companies, and on-call GPs. Is there ever going to be a new Freelander???

But even if JLR do it, it's not going to be in the same price bracket as the Skoda, is it? And the baby Defender (if it ever sees light of day) won't be large enough for emergency services (and the new Defender is too expensive ). Now left.
