I’ve done hundreds of thousands of miles of BFG AT tyres and not once have they failed to perform well across a vast range of conditions. Robust, long-lived, good wet and dry road grip, and they will handle everything except deep thick mud. They’re expensive but the cost per mile is low - for me less than £0.01/mile.

They would be my first choice for an all-terrain tyre, and indeed my 90 will be getting its fourth consecutive new set later this year when it goes back together.

This is helpful, thank you.

My 110XS is still on the original 16” continentals, which are great and have plenty of tread left (only done 18k miles) but I will be replacing them due to age (8years). I am 90% road use with the occasional muddy track or field required.

I am thinking KO2s as they get so many positive reviews (shh.. and I also love the white lettering on the sidewalls). It appears a very small group of users say they have poor wet grip but I am not driving anywhere that fast.

Please update on this thread if anyone has additional feedback. Thank you.

I'm convinced the KO2's being poor in the wet is a batch issue or a change at some point, mine are great in the wet. James

My BFG's are good in the wet, it's just when the roads are a bit greasy that they don't behave themselves Thumbs Up 1996 Golf Blue 300Tdi 110 Pick up.

Does anyone have any pictures of their Defender on General Grabber AT3s with the coloured side wall letters please?

Very hard to find on google.. some appear to have blue letters

The blue is similar to tyre soap, when they are done it comes off with a brush. No Guts, No Glory.
