Potentially sounds like your handbrake cable is starting to seize up or your handbrake mechanism is sticking. The cable/mechanism probably frees up with the exhaust heat or from the shoes dragging if it is the drum itself.
I would remove the handbrake drum and have a good check of the mechanism, make sure springs are all present and even better clean it up and apply a small amount of copper slip where the shoes rest on the backplate. Also check that there are no signs of damage to the cable and that it hasnt been bent excessively tightly where it is routed. Steve 02' 110 TD5 Double Cab Rebuild Thread |

Salut Thomas
Retirez votre tambour de frein à main, il est peut-être plein de saleté. Excusez mon français, je suis anglais. Marc. |
