We can look at this topic from another angle, this being that they also tell us it’s not to run summer tyres at temperatures below 5degrees. I think a good winter tyre is better in the summer than some of the rubbish we’re “allowed” to use. Nangkang and Wanli are just two that come to mind. 2006 TD5110 station wagon

Just to add, a good winter tyre will perform better on a hot summers day, than a good summer tyre would on a hard winters day. 2006 TD5110 station wagon

Tbh I’ve run “winters” in that they are snow flake treated all seasons on my wife’s car all year Nokian WRD4 and Goodyear vector 4 seasons gen2s, they seem to suit her car better than its summers (Michelin pilot sport 4) for 99% of the year given the amount of rain we have in Scotland and that its often never above 20c here for long i don’t see the need to run anything else

North East Ambulance Service have done their own studies and they specify winter tyres as the best for their purposes, I think they know their vehicles better than I do and I am sure they have had dealings with insurance |

Do they know more about rubber and tyres than the product manufacturers... I’m sure accident investigators and the insurance company if called to check would certainly take their side of what’s best usage for their vehicles over the tyre or vehicle manufacturers recommendations.... not!
I appreciate your dialog but won’t be coming to you for tyre advice...... Ride like you stole it!! If I’m not on a bike it’s because only a 4x4 will do… 2011 2.4 Puma 90 HT |

Leamreject. You’re not coming across as the type of guy who’d take any advice full stop. You’re reading posts that people are posting from personal experiences and replying with patronising sarcasm, you’d be more welcome over on Landyzone , they seem to like that kind of thing on there. This forum is very different, so please have a good look through and learn the level of etiquette that the members of this forum adhere to.

Bows, thank you for your message and pointing out the error of my ways.
I haven’t joined this group to rub anyone up the wrong way, but more valuably to gain LR knowledge and share my 40 years of utility fleet experience. I apologise if I have offended anyone I didn’t set out to do so, but feel passionate about what I believe to be correct. But that doesn’t excuse me for being drawn in and possibly rude....
