Heater valve replacement....help!
I am half way to replacing the leaking heater valve on top of a 2.25 diesel. Having got the old one off I now can't screw the new one on fully. The hose tail catches on the radiator hose tail. (Will try and post a photo.) Can any one suggest how I can get round this without it getting too heath-Robinson please?

Thanks.

(I cut the hose tail off the old one to get a better grip on it to undo it, it my have been slightly shorter than the tail on the new one).

Is it not just a matter of removing the thermostat housing, the one with 3 bolts to the right of the heater valve as seen in photo? 1988 90 Hard Top, 19J Diesel Turbo, Shire Blue - Restoration ongoing

That's great thanks. I undid the 3 bolts on the outlet and concluded, wrongly that this wasn't going to help. I will get back onto this tomorrow.
