Next question what tyres are you thinking of putting on them? Searching for my first Defender...and started just as Covid hit, so talk about timing.
5 months after starting the search I found it, and here is the details |

I do like the Corse, indeed I love rally style wheels generally. Regardless of the brake upgrade, I think 18s are a must as the spacing between spokes on the 16s looks too packed to me, more like Blindos.
Still think Bowlers are sexier..... . But I'll accept the Corse are cheaper. Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I haven’t pulled the pin quite yet, but Bowler have confirmed they’re having supply issues for the 18s. They’re hoping to have them in stock again in February, but that wasn’t a guarantee . . . Yes, a set of 5 EVOs work out at £1,600 vs. £1,900 for the Bowlers. I think the LOF front and rear EXTREMEspec brake kit for 18s would leave you with change out of £5,500. Slightly off £4200 but still mental money.
Ive had LOFs kit on for few thousand miles and they are spot on. Excellent stopping power, no fade and look awesome! I do love the Evos i want them for my next one! Instagram @defender_ventures Empire Tuning - Agent |

Well I think a set of LOF fronts might be a summer project and then rears as and when.
EVO Corse might be making my bank account a bit lighter at some point this week Charlie 1949 Series 1 80 (SOLD) 2002 Td5 90 (SOLD) 2008 Freelander 2 (SOLD) 1958 Series 2 88 Pastel Green (2019 LR Legends Best Restored) 1983 V8 110 Limestone (Previously owned by Tom Sheppard MBE) 2004 Td5 90 Santorini Black (Td5INSIDE Powered & Rebuilt by CSK) 2012 Puma 110 Zermatt Silver (Overlanding Build) Instagram: @BaronDefenders |

Evo course 8.5 inch wide et 18
Bowler 8 inch wide et 15 so if my understanding is correct the evos will ultimately stick out about 9 mm more than the bowlers and stick in about 3mm more and will take a bit wider tyre DEFENDER 90 TDCI XS, I hope everyone is well and your land rovers make you happy Last edited by LR90XS2011 on 26th Mar 2021 8:38am. OT: Brake upgrades are an ongoing debate with myself.
Price/need/reality/usage/limitations. I honestly cannot see the need (beyond racing or ‘they look frigging awesome’) in spending 5k on a set of APs or Alcons. The limitations placed on the BBK by the vehicles handling characteristics and non-road biased heavy duty tyres, make having monster anchors at a monster price, a bit pointless. Even if driving like a hooligan. The handling and tyres will give up far before the BBK reaches its limits. However, what is undeniable is that for vehicles that carry a bit more weight, or driven more like a ‘normal’ car, or are used in environments such as mine (with a lot of heavy braking downhill on twisty alpine roads) the stock brakes are simply not good enough. I know there are some who say uprated hoses and well maintained pads/discs are all you need, but I can strongly disagree based on brake fade I’ve had out here. So for me, a compromise is needed. A brake kit that offers considerably better braking if a like-for-like 4-pot swap, or if you’re feeling generous, a six pot set up, but at a price point that’s not prohibitive. In my mind there are only a couple of options, LOF and (Stateside) Wilwood. One day I’ll make the purchase Monsieur Le Grenadier I've not been everywhere, but it's on my list..... 2011 Puma 110DC - Corris Grey |

I can remember driving down a particularly Land Rover unfriendly pass near the Glières Plateau in 2019. By the bottom, the brakes had completely faded and still were unbelievably hot by the time I reached La Clusaz. Charlie

I used to tow a 1 tonne off road camping trailer and on one trip across the Alps managed to melt the cables to the trailer wheels because of the long downhill stretches. The solution was to back off the brakes and tow it unbraked but even then the brakes on the towing vehicle were fine. That vehicle was a Discovery 1 but the brakes are obviously virtually identical to a 110. Darren

£4200 last time I looked and worth every penny if you work brakes hard. WARNING. This post may contain sarcasm. |

Click image to enlarge Never once have i had the thought of needing to upgrade brakes,,, even after taking the scenic route, towing over the alps into Italy Did have to stop halfway down for the trailer brakes to cool down mind, but then it was very near on the weight limit Click image to enlarge California F1, 75th 110 "Kermit", 50th Ann V8, 90 V8 Hybrid, 55 Series 1 Main Brian James Trailer Dealer for South West UK |
