Found this useful guide on the Parkers website for those wondering what their 1st year and subsequent years road tax in the U.K. will be. This is only for 110’s no 90 models are listed but I’m sure that they will be similar or less.....
https://www.parkers.co.uk/land-rover/defender/110-2019/car-tax/ Pangea Green D250 90 HSE with Air Suspension, Off-road Pack, Towing Pack, Black Contrast roof , rear recovery eyes, Front bash plate, Classic flaps all round, extended wheel arch kit and a few bits from PowerfulUK Expel Clear Gloss PPF to come 2020 D240 1st Edition in Pangea Green with Acorn interior. Now gone - old faithful, no mechanical issues whatsoever ever but the leaks and rattles all over the place won’t be missed! |

Cheers - confirms the £1850 and £475 I will be paying - don't really care about that first one as its just rolled into the new vehicle sticker price BUT if someone were buying a 6 month old car they'd find the remaining £925 to pay a bit of a stinger... I thought the first year price was a one off, so once paid as new, a 6 month old vehicle wouldn't be charged again?

Correct, you just pay the £465(?). My Skoda was £500odd first tax but as it was pre-registered and taxed, then part refunded, I only paid £150.
