mine was the same, no siemens/vdo stamp, looked to be blanked out but was in a genuine sealed box, works though, world of difference from the old one

Thanks for the reply, just maybe a bit suspect as the original clear tape was cut and then sealed up with gaffer tape !

See below photos of Genuine, OEM and Aftermarket MAFs.
Alas no picture from the underside of the OEM MAF, but from memory it looked the same as the Genuine though without the LR p/n inscription ('MHK100620'). Also note the Siemens/Continental VDO p/n printed on top of the sensor as well as the pin numbering on the connector. No p/n or pin numbering on the Aftermarket sensor. Both genuine and OEM have two filaments in the sensing element, the Aftermarket a resistor and a blank - this is allegedly what makes the pattern MAFs unreliable. Lastly the plastic injection of the Aftermarket unit is clearly of a lesser quality, at least cosmetically. That is exactly what I had - for both the old and the new part. Appears to be much the same, but with logo etched out. Spoke to the place I got it from, can't remember the exact reason I was given, but I was satisfied with it.
Anyway, I installed the new part, and going for a drive with a Nanocom connected, the MAF values are in the range expected (as opposed to before when they were something close to zero and unchanging, this was with the old sensor connected, and with no sensor connected). Made no noticeable difference to running of car though |

Does the Britpart have a resistor instead off a film? I think I have a broken one like that and have a proper one now. Roel

I've got both.
Yes the britpart one has a resistor instead of a film. both seems to work ok. i've ran the britpart one for over 5yrs and have switched over to the VDO one a few weeks back. Sorry to dig this old thread up. But it doesn't seem worth making another one.
Does anyone know if genuine land rover maf sensors always have brand markings on them? The one im looking into which is apparently genuine, has no markings on it at all. For a TD5. Thanks |

I don’t think they come with anything on them other than a digital print of part no. on the top of the sensor. The VDO one’s don’t I fitted one yesterday
